On December 21, the Traffic Operations Unit of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Maryland State Police, Maryland Transit Authority Police, and patrol squad 3/K, established a DUI checkpoint at St. Charles Parkway and Gallery Place in Waldorf, Maryland. The checkpoint resulted in 521 vehicles being checked. Consequently, 31 traffic stops were made, 29 tickets were issued together with 18 warnings, and 10 equipment repair orders. Fourth vehicles were towed away, one arrest warrant was executed, and one individual was arrested for DUI. The Maryland Highway Safety Office provided the funds for this checkpoint operation.
