The Reno Police Department (RPD) in Nevada has attributed nine DUI arrests in December and January to a grant received in October. The funding, provided by the Office of Traffic Safety, aimed to address impaired driving offences in the Reno locality. Throughout December 2023 and January 2024, the RPD executed multiple DUI crack-down operations. Over the span of four days, the department made 133 traffic stops, gave out 50 citations, issued 61 warnings, and made nine DUI arrests. These operations were financed by the Nevada Department of Public Safety/Office of Traffic Safety and similar events are set to continue throughout 2024.
