In this week’s episode of “New Mexico in Focus,” U.S. Attorney Alexander Uballez will be interviewed by Executive Producer Jeff Proctor about the federal investigation into the alleged corruption within the DWI unit of the Albuquerque Police Department. The discussion will illuminate the investigation process and provide insights into why the U.S. Attorney took the rare step of publicly confirming the investigation.
Journalist Patrick Lohmann will conversate with two survivors of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf-Canyon Fire, discussing their experiences surrounding the disaster and their recovery efforts. They will also cover their community’s struggles with inadequate federal financial aid and the leadership problem in the local FEMA.
The episode will also report the latest count of 257 Mexican Wolves in New Mexico and Arizona, which was announced by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The count was participated in by federal and state biologists and veterinarians.
“New Mexico in Focus” will air on March 8th at 7 pm on NMPBS 5.1 and will be streamed on PBS video app. The show provides an in-depth exploration of social, economic, political, health, art, and education issues in New Mexico.
