On December 15, 2023, around 4:39 a.m., Princetown State Police noted a damaged vehicle that hit the guiding rail on State Route 5S, Florida, NY. The driver, Jessica L. Sievers, 37, also from Florida, NY, did not cooperate with the investigation and was arrested for DUI and other traffic violations. Sievers, who resisted the processing and sampling of her alcohol blood content, has had a previous DUI conviction in the last decade. After her booking at SP Princetown, she was released from Florida Town Court and returned on January 13, 2024, to complete the arrest processing as per court order.
On January 11, 2024, around 12:55 p.m., Schodack State Police spotted a vehicle that had hit a utility pole and barrier on Columbia Turnpike, Schodack, NY. The driver, James J. Smith, 62, from East Greenbush, NY, was arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses and taken to SP Brunswick for processing, where his BAC was registered at 0.29%.
Additionally, on the same day at 8:33 p.m., Saratoga State Police were dispatched to State Route 67, Milton, NY, responding to a single-car rollover crash. The driver, Michael J. Kulls, 42, from Saratoga Springs, NY, fled from the scene, was apprehended, arrested for DUI and other traffic offences, and refused to provide a blood sample. His record revealed a previous DUI conviction within the past decade. Kulls was sent to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail after his arraignment at Malta Town Court.
Later that evening, at around 9:45 p.m., Princetown State Police stopped a vehicle on Erie Boulevard, Schenectady, NY, for traffic violations. The driver, 40-year-old Burtil B. Bagot also of Schenectady, NY, resisted arrest for Aggravated DUI with a child (Leandra’s Law), child endangerment and other traffic violations. His uncooperative behavior led to additional charges. He was taken to SP Princetown for processing, not agreeing to provide a blood alcohol content sample. The child was safely handed over to a family member and Bagot held at the Schenectady County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment.
Lastly, on January 13, 2024, at about 5:27 p.m., Cobleskill State Police were called to a vehicle off the road on State Route 10, Richmondville, NY. The driver was identified as Karol Giembic, 43, of Stamford, NY, who was arrested for DUI and other traffic violations and refused to submit a blood alcohol content sample. After further investigation revealing a past DWI conviction within the past decade, Giembic was taken to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
