Teaching Assistant from AISD Arrested for DWI in Comal County

An Austin Independent School District worker has been detained in Comal County and has been charged with a DWI felony involving a minor under 15, as detailed in online court records for Comal County. Ralph Patrick Hutchens, 37, is noted as a physical education teacher’s assistant on the Summit Elementary website. The school district verified his employment and stated he is currently on administrative leave.

KXAN news outlet is still trying to establish how many kids were in the car when Hutchens was arrested. The online court documents reveal that he was apprehended on February 11 in Comal County, and no attorney was listed for him when this information was released.
