In Fresno County, California, a 78-year-old man tragically lost his life in a collision caused by a suspected DUI driver near the Table Mountain Casino on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred on Millerton Road and Marina Drive, to which California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched. According to the officers, a 35-year-old male driving a blue Chevy Silverado on Millerton Road drove into the opposite lane, causing a head-on collision with the elderly man’s white Toyota Tundra.
Witnesses claimed that the 35-year-old was driving irresponsibly prior to the crash. He sustained severe injuries and is currently under investigation for driving under the influence due to the suspicion of alcohol playing a role in the accident.
A passenger in the Toyota Tundra also suffered from severe injuries. Meanwhile, traffic on Millerton Road is being rerouted at Marina Drive, with motorists advised to bypass the area until further notice.
