Oneida County District Legal professional Scott McNamara is looking out what he says is a brand new failure with bail reform legal guidelines after a Utica man was arrested twice for driving whereas intoxicated.
Kamsan Suon was first arrested and launched after a crash in Utica on July 9. McNamara says his blood alcohol stage was .32, 4 occasions the authorized restrict. Suon was charged with aggravated DWI.
Then on Aug. 23, Suon was arrested once more and charged with DWI underneath Leandra’s Legislation as a result of there have been two kids, ages 10 and 6, within the automobile. McNamara says Suon’s BAC was .30.
McNamara says judges must have the discretion to set bail, particularly in circumstances like these, including, “It’s one of these case that’s going to end in harmless individuals being needlessly killed.”
