AUSTIN, TX — Austin police is encouraging individuals to keep away from consuming and driving Memorial Day Weekend because it prepares for DWI enforcement.
Authorities will conduct a DWI Enforcement Initiative from 10 p.m. to five a.m. beginning Thursday via Monday. The initiative will coincide with the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, officers introduced Thursday.
Police stated this initiative is an effort to implement DWI legal guidelines, preserve the general public protected by encouraging drivers to make accountable choices, and to use for blood search warrants on suspects who refuse to supply a breath or blood specimen as required by legislation.
The initiative will even concentrate on the highways and excessive pace roadways, officers stated.
“The Austin Police Division, and the Metropolis of Austin Transportation Division are constantly centered on stopping lives from being misplaced on the streets, highways and waterways of Austin,” officers stated Thursday. “The Division is devoted to creating the roadways and waterways of Austin protected for residents and guests via schooling and enforcement.”

The Texas Division of Public Transportation will implement its“Click It or Ticket” campaign throughout Memorial Day weekend until June 6.
