SARATOGA SPRINGS – An early Sunday visitors cease in Saratoga Springs led to a drunk driver and a gun, police stated.
Shamiek A.H. Shorter, 25, of Schenectady, was arrested and charged with second-degree legal possession of a weapon, a felony, and misdemeanor driving whereas intoxicated, police stated.
The cease occurred simply after 3:30 a.m. on Caroline Road as officers stopped the automobile for car and visitors violations, police stated.
Police then quickly arrested the driving force, Shorter, for DWI. In the course of the cease and arrest course of, police then found Shorter had a loaded .380 Kahr semi-automatic pistol that he illegally possessed, police stated.
Shorter was arraigned and ordered held on $5,000 bail.
The early Sunday weapons arrest adopted one other one Friday night. Within the Friday case, police responded to a name for a suspicious car on LaFayette Road close to Henry Road and shortly found a .38 caliber revolver, arresting an Albany man on a felony weapons rely, police stated.
