BRANDON, Miss. (AP) — The household of a person who died hours after being taken into custody by deputies in central Mississippi is in search of solutions about his demise.
Cory Jackson of Brandon died early Saturday morning, WLBT-TV studies. Whereas the Rankin County Sheriff’s Division says he was pronounced lifeless at a hospital, Jackson’s youthful sister Megan Jackson stated the deputy coroner advised the household he died on the jail.
“No one deserves to die scared and alone in a cell when somebody is meant to guard you,” Megan Jackson advised WLBT.
She stated the household referred to as the sheriff’s division for assist as a result of Jackson wanted medical consideration for accidents and his hallucinations made it tough to get him to a hospital.
“He has a psychological sickness. He’s schizophrenic, you realize, he has drug-induced psychosis. He’s bipolar. He has a number of personalities, he’s delusional,” the sister added.
She advised the station that deputies assumed her brother was on medicine due to his habits. She stated Jackson had been with their mom the entire day and he or she had his cash. Whereas the household stated he had used medicine many instances earlier than, he didn’t that day.
“The cop was like, ‘nicely, that is clearly medicine.’ And we have been like, ‘no, it’s not’,” Megan Jackson stated.

Rankin County Sheriff’s Division spokesperson Paul Holley advised WLBT that Jackson was pronounced lifeless at a hospital after he was put in jail. His sister stated the deputy coroner advised her household a unique model of what occurred.
