Authorities have reported a property damage accident at a North Country retail store which led to the arrest of a local individual in late January in Lowville. The incident at Walmart, Lowville, NY occurred just before 8:00 p.m. last Wednesday and was reported to the police via 9-1-1 dispatch.
The specifics of the incident remain undisclosed by the Sheriff’s Office. However, a local resident, Damien M. Breen, 24, was arrested by Deputies in the aftermath of the event. Lewis County Sheriff’s Office released a confusing press note that listed Breen’s home address as Lowville, NY, but later referred to it as Boonville, NY.
Breen was escorted to the Public Safety Building after reportedly failing on-site sobriety tests. His Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was gauged to be .12% during processing, leading to formal charges of DWI and DWI (.08 of 1% or more BAC). He has been released with orders to appear in the Lowville Town Court, with further information pending. The police provided no additional details regarding the case.
