DWI Arrest by Killeen Police: Local News

A 27-year-old man in Killeen, Texas has been taken into custody and charged with DWI, following his departure from a crash scene, as reported by Killeen Police. The man, driving a red Dodge SUV, collided with a marked police vehicle at the intersection of N. 10th St. and Santa Fe Drive on January 5th, around 10:57 p.m. The officer involved in the collision was not seriously hurt. The SUV driver then fled from the scene without stopping while the damaged police vehicle did not pursue him. At 11:03 p.m., about six minutes later, the runaway SUV was observed speeding by a different patrol officer on WS Young Drive where it ended up crashing with a silver Honda. The Honda’s two passengers were hospitalised for serious injuries while the Dodge driver sustained minor injuries, was arrested at the scene, and later transported to the city jail. Traffic investigators had the intersection at Central Texas Expressway and WS Young Drive shut down for several hours for investigative operations.
