A tragic accident occurred on Route 34 in Howell on January 13, leading to the death of a 3-year-old girl and the serious injuries of her mother and 2-year-old brother. The suspect, a woman named Samantha E. Bonora, was charged with driving under the influence (DWI) following the accident.
Bonora, who was allegedly under the influence of several drugs, drove her Dodge Ram pickup head-on into a Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying the mother and her two children. The mother’s two young children were identified as Kylie Williams, who sadly died in the crash, and Kyle, who was severely injured.
Following the head-on crash, Bonora’s pickup was hit by a Ford Bronco in the northbound lanes of the highway. Bonora, a local resident, is now facing charges of first-degree aggravated manslaughter, two counts of second-degree aggravated assault, and driving under the influence, alongside multiple motor vehicle summonses. Bonora is currently detained at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute, pending an initial court appearance on Wednesday.
A GoFundMe page, set up to support the bereaved family, identified the deceased toddler as Kylie Williams. According to the page, her mother, Joelle, is in the process of recovery and is determined to regain a sense of normalcy for her surviving son Kyle, who was seriously injured in the collision. Despite facing several surgeries and weeks of being bedridden, Joelle is committed to doing everything she can for her son.
