The Independence police reported that a suspected drunk driver was involved in a devastating head-on collision on Friday afternoon in Florence, Ky. The suspect, who was driving a 2013 Lincoln SUV, swerved over the central lines and median on Industrial Road at Holton Drive, resulting in a crash with another vehicle.
The crash led to severe injuries for the other driver involved. The injured victim was airlifted in critical condition to UC. Meanwhile, the driver suspected of DUI was arrested at the scene of the accident. The driver is now facing charges that include a second offence of DUI alongside aggravating circumstances, as well as first-degree assault.
The Independence police have yet to disclose the name of the suspect.
