ORANGE, CA — A suspected DUI driver killed one other motorist in a crash Sunday within the metropolis of Orange.
The crash occurred about 4 p.m. on the intersection of West Sycamore Avenue and North Predominant Road, police informed the Orange County Register.
The person driving a Mazda Protege died on the scene. His title was withheld pending notification of subsequent of kin.
The driving force of a Honda Accord — recognized by police as 23-year-old Antonio Sanchez Contreras of Los Angeles — was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter whereas driving intoxicated, police informed the paper. He was not injured within the crash.
Investigators informed the paper the Mazda was in a left flip lane when it was rear-ended by Contreras, who was dashing.
No bail or courtroom data was instantly obtainable.
