TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Police arrested a Cocoa man Friday and charged him with the DUI manslaughter of one other man in a January visitors collision in Titusville, according to News 6 partner Florida Today.
Titusville Police mentioned Ronnie Dale Huggins Jr., 33, was arrested in reference to the Jan. 20 death of Titusville resident Jonathan Edward Duff, 48, on the intersection of U.S. 1 and Cheney Freeway.
Police say Huggins drove a 2006 Buick Lucerne via a crimson gentle at about 10:30 p.m., hitting Duff’s 2001 Ford Mustang as Duff tried to show left onto U.S. 1.
The affect threw Duff from his automobile, and he died from his accidents later that evening.
Huggins was driving underneath the affect and touring “at an extreme charge of velocity,” police mentioned.
A police spokesperson mentioned Saturday that investigators needed to evaluation footage of the scene to find out that the collision wasn’t an accident earlier than arresting Huggins, which is why it took almost six months to bring charges.
Huggins was charged with DUI manslaughter and reckless driving inflicting critical bodily hurt, police mentioned. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail with out bail. His courtroom date is about for Aug. 26.
