Police arrested a Cocoa man Friday and charged him with the DUI manslaughter of one other man in a January visitors collision in Titusville.
Titusville Police stated Ronnie Dale Huggins Jr., 33, was arrested in reference to the Jan. 20 demise of Titusville resident Jonathan Edward Duff, 48, on the intersection of U.S. 1 and Cheney Freeway.
Police say Huggins drove a 2006 Buick Lucerne via a pink mild at about 10:30 p.m., hitting Duff’s 2001 Ford Mustang as Duff tried to show left onto U.S. 1.
The influence threw Duff from his automotive, and he died from his accidents later that evening.
Huggins was driving below the affect and touring “at an extreme price of velocity,” police stated.
A police spokesperson stated Saturday that investigators needed to evaluate footage of the scene to find out that the collision wasn’t an accident earlier than arresting Huggins, which is why it took virtually six months to carry fees.
Huggins was charged with DUI manslaughter and reckless driving inflicting critical bodily hurt, police stated. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail with out bail. His court docket date is ready for Aug. 26.
