San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday evening in Lemon Grove.
Officers will likely be stopping drivers at an undisclosed location within the metropolis from 8 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday to examine for alcohol or marijuana impairment.
“Site visitors quantity and climate allowing, all autos could also be checked and drivers who’re drunk and/or medicine will likely be arrested,” Sgt. Aaron Montan mentioned in a press release.
“Our goal is to ship a transparent message to those that are contemplating driving a motorcar after consuming alcohol and/or medicine,” he added.
Checkpoints like this are routinely introduced prematurely due to the deterrent effct on drivers.
The operation is funded by a grant from the California Workplace of Site visitors Security by way of the Nationwide Freeway Site visitors Security Administration.
