Sheriff’s deputies cited 17 drivers with a suspended or invalid driver license throughout a checkpoint, and two autos have been towed, officers mentioned Saturday.
Deputies from the Imperial Seashore substation of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department carried out the checkpoint Friday within the 900 block of Palm Avenue, Sgt. Samuel Lizarraga mentioned.
Of the 1,264 autos passing by means of the checkpoint, 1,228 have been contacted and 38 autos have been despatched to secondary inspection for additional analysis, the sergeant mentioned. No subject sobriety checks have been carried out and there have been no DUI alcohol arrests.
Funding for the checkpoint was offered by a grant from the California Workplace of Visitors Security by means of the Nationwide Freeway Visitors Security Administration.
