
A motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving inebriated and one other driver was arrested on a felony warrant at a DUI checkpoint, authorities mentioned.
The checkpoint was carried out between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight within the 600 block of E Avenue, mentioned Sgt. Anthony Molina of the Chula Vista Police Department.
Of 1,740 autos touring by the checkpoint, 714 autos have been screened and eight drivers got sobriety checks, the sergeant mentioned.
9 citations have been issued to drivers who have been unlicensed or had suspended licenses. Six autos have been impounded.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Workplace of Visitors Security.
