ACADIA PARISH – Louisiana State Police Troop I plans to conduct a sobriety and seat belt checkpoint in an effort to fight impaired driving.
On Thursday, April 28 from roughly 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. police will probably be at an undisclosed location in Acadia Parish conducting the checks. The mission will probably be to detect and arrest impaired drivers earlier than they will trigger harm or loss of life to themselves or others. Moreover, police will test autos for unrestrained motorists and occupants in an effort to scale back the variety of traffic-related fatalities brought on by not carrying a seat belt.
Motorists are inspired to designate a sober driver and buckle up.
To report impaired drivers, motorists are inspired to dial *LSP (*577) from their cellular telephone to succeed in the closest Louisiana State Police troop location or dial 911 to contact native legislation enforcement.
