HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Division (HPD) will likely be organising impaired driver checkpoints at varied places and instances round Oahu between Could 1 and June 30.
HPD says the checkpoints are a part of the division’s ongoing effort to cut back visitors deaths and accidents.

The checkpoints can also be operational throughout Memorial Day and King Kamehameha Day.
In keeping with HPD, officers have been repeatedly conducting impaired driver checkpoints each week from September 2020 and can proceed to take action by September 2021 as a part of the federal
“52/12” sobriety checkpoint program.
HPD took to twitter to share the quantity of citations issued for dashing within the month of April.
A complete of 372 citations have been issued for dashing and 87 citations have been issued for extreme dashing between April 8 and April 22.
“Seven drivers have been arrested for extreme dashing and three have been arrested for impaired driving,” reported HPD whereas urging drivers to decelerate.
