5 drivers had been arrested on suspicion of driving inebriated at a downtown checkpoint, police mentioned Sunday.
The checkpoint was performed from 11 p.m. Saturday to three a.m. Sunday at 1500 Fifth Ave., based on Officer Anthony Obregon of the San Diego Police Department.
Of 831 autos touring via the checkpoint, 405 autos had been screened, the officer mentioned. Two drivers had been cited for driver license violations and 5 autos had been impounded.
One other checkpoint was deliberate for Monday.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
