
A multi-agency sobriety checkpoint is deliberate for this weekend at an undisclosed location in Carlsbad.
On Friday round 5 p.m., the California Highway Patrol and the Carlsbad Police Division will host the annual Officer Sean Nava and Officer Stephen Linen Memorial DUI Checkpoint and a web site inside the metropolis, CHP Officer Hunter Gerber stated.
The checkpoint location was chosen to coincide with the October 2000 demise of Nava, who was struck by an impaired driver on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad, and the August 2001 demise of Linen, who was struck by an impaired driver throughout an enforcement cease on the identical freeway in Encinitas.
