The Joplin Police Division introduced that 10 arrests in instances of driving whereas intoxicated had been made throughout a sobriety checkpoint carried out Friday evening at Seventh Avenue and Illinois Avenue.
Joplin police carried out the checkpoint from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday with the help of the Southwest Missouri DWI Taskforce and the help of Moms Towards Drunk Driving.
A complete of two,022 drivers had been checked out by officers, with 17 subject sobriety exams carried out. Along with the ten arrests for driving whereas intoxicated, officers arrested two individuals on warrants and issued eight tickets.
