UPDATE (4/15): The Kern County Sheriff’s Workplace has recognized the girl killed within the crash as 51-year-old Oroville resident Angelena Marie Huffman. She was a passenger within the car.
(4/12): BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (KGET) — A lady died Monday morning when the SUV she was touring in overturned off Interstate 5 and officers arrested the motive force on suspicion of impaired driving.
The California Freeway Patrol says drugged driving is believed to have prompted the 8:07 a.m. rollover crash that occurred on southbound I-5, south of Taft Freeway. Scott Charles Web page, 54, of Oroville suffered main accidents and was taken to Kern Medical, the place officers arrested him.
The lady, whose title had not been launched as of Monday night, was ejected from the SUV and died on the scene, officers mentioned. She was not sporting a seat belt.
The CHP mentioned Web page drove a 2004 Nissan Murano at speeds between 70 to 80 mph when the car entered the middle median. Web page “abruptly” turned proper, officers mentioned, dropping management because the SUV crossed each southbound lanes and overturned in a dust space west of the roadway.
“This crash is a tragic however stark reminder of the risks of driving impaired, and the significance of at all times sporting your seat belt,” the CHP mentioned.
