GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A former Gainesville police officer was fired on Monday after he was suspected of driving drunk whereas off-duty, the division stated.
Tyler McBee, 31, was concerned in a single-vehicle crash on Apr. 9, 2022.

Gainesville police responded to the scene and located McBee, considered one of their officers, and requested the Corridor’s County Sheriff’s Workplace to analyze the crash.
After finishing their investigation, HCSO arrested McBee and charged him with a DUI.
GPD stated McBee was terminated on account of the incident.
“As legislation enforcement officers, we’re and ought to be held to the best requirements of conduct whether or not on or off obligation,” Chief Jay Parrish wrote in an announcement. “Though extremely upset and upset within the actions of McBee, I’m happy with the officers on scene who held their colleague to the best of requirements. McBee was a member of the division since Nov. 2019.
