VICTORVILLE (CBSLA) — A 55-year-old man was killed after his Cadillac was hit head-on by a driver who police say was drunk and has had a number of prior arrests for DUI.
Lacey Cecenthia Vickers, 30, of Barstow, was pulled from her burning Jeep SUV instantly after the crash at about 11 p.m. Sunday, in response to the Victorville Police Division. The crash occurred within the space of Village Drive at Clovis Avenue in Victorville.
The person, a Victorville resident, was pronounced lifeless on the scene. Investigators say he was in a Cadillac sedan that was going south on Village Drive when he crashed head-on into Vickers, who was going south in her Jeep, within the middle lane of Village Drive, simply south of Clovis Avenue.
His identify has not been launched pending notification of his household.
Vickers sustained minor accidents within the crash and is being handled at a trauma middle. She was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter whereas intoxicated and driving underneath the affect, inflicting dying, and will likely be booked on the West Valley Detention Middle upon her launch from the trauma middle.
