At 5:30 p.m., Thursday, South Dakota Freeway 87, mile marker 62, eight miles northeast of Custer: A 2013 Harley-Davidson FLTRU was southbound on South Dakota Freeway 87 when the bike crossed the middle line and collided with a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The 58-year-old male driver of the bike was pronounced lifeless on the scene. He was not sporting a helmet. The 2 occupants of Chevrolet – the 19-year-old male driver and the 15-year-old feminine passenger — weren’t injured. They had been sporting seat belts.
