State board suspends educator certificate for HCS teacher accused in deadly DUI crash


HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – The South Carolina State Board of Schooling has suspended a Horry County instructor’s educator certificates after he was accused of inflicting a lethal crash whereas below the affect.

Michael Oerther, 52, was arrested final week and charged with felony driving below the affect leading to loss of life.

Troopers stated he was driving a Jeep Wrangler alongside Carolina Forest Boulevard when he crashed into the again of a Honda Civic that was stopped at a stoplight close to Stafford Drive. Leza Watts, 27, was killed within the crash.
