Bridgewater DWI Driver Causes Car Crash: Police

A man from Somerset has been charged with drunk driving after crashing into another car in Bridgewater, New Jersey on the night of January 20th. Bridgewater Police reported that Omaru Massaquoi, 52, had been driving a 2020 Kia Optima northwards on Finderne Avenue when the incident occurred. At the intersection with East Main Street, Massaquoi attempted a left turn and subsequently collided with a 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI going south on Finderne Ave. The crash caused the Volkswagen to veer off the road and hit a utility pole. Massaquoi was arrested on the scene for driving while intoxicated (DWI), reckless driving, not giving way at an intersection, and careless driving. Following his arrest, Massaquoi was released and is set to appear in court at a later date. It remains unclear whether there were any injuries from the incident. In addition to police, the Finderne Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident.
