DWI Charge for Lockport man at Home Depot Lot

Steven J. Wright, a 33-year-old resident of Lockport, NY, was arrested by SP Lockport Troopers on January 20, 2024, on multiple charges. These charges include Drug-Impaired Driving, 7th-degree Controlled Substance Criminal Possession, 4th-degree Narcotic Criminal Possession, and 2nd-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

The incident took place at 3:02 P.M. at the Home Depot on Transit Road in Lockport. Troopers were called in response to a possible unresponsive male in a 2011 Ford Escape. Upon arrival, the troopers found Wright responsive and showed signs of drug impairment. They spotted a glass pipe with cocaine on the passenger seat of Wright’s vehicle in plain sight, and discovered that Wright was also carrying cocaine on him.

After his arrest, Wright was taken to SP Lockport for processing, where a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated him, and a urine sample was also taken. Following the procedures, Wright was brought to the Niagara County Jail for centralized arraignment.
