A resident of Almo was charged with drunk driving after purportedly flipping his vehicle on Monday. The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover incident at the crossroads of Bethel Road and Rolling Hills Trail in Almo. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Colby Fox, was outside his car when the officers arrived, and he could not elucidate how his vehicle came to be in the ditch.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, evidence suggested that the car was traveling southbound and ran off the side of the road, passing through the ditch before ending up flipped over in a creek bed. Fox declined any medical treatment from the local EMS, and officers suspected he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Fox was detained and taken to Calloway County, where he faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated for the third time, a Class A misdemeanor. It was confirmed that Fox pleaded guilty to a second DUI offense back in January 2018.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who observes unusual or potentially illegal behaviour to contact them. It is important to remember that individuals accused of crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
